Crystal Lake South’s EasyLife Earns National Gold Recognition

Crystal Lake South High School’s Virtual Enterprises International (VEI) – Entrepreneurship (Dual Credit) class has earned the Gold Circles of Excellence designation for its student-run virtual company, EasyLife.
Fewer than 6% of firms nationwide received this honor during the 2024-25 school year. To achieve it, students completed more than 90% of 63 required business tasks designed to simulate real-world business operations. These included completing company payroll, paying rent and utilities, registering their business, making virtual sales, developing and submitting a business plan, and participating in both online and live trade shows. They also advanced to the National Round in both Human Resources and Marketing competitions at VEI’s Youth Business Summit in New York City.
This recognition highlights the dedication of CLS students who are gaining real-world business experience while preparing for future careers.
“From the very beginning of the year, our students set their sights on earning the Gold Certificate of Excellence, and they worked tirelessly without shortcuts to accomplish that goal,” said Jim Krol, Business Teacher. “Their dedication makes this recognition from VE especially meaningful. I feel proud and fortunate to work alongside such a driven group of students, supported by VE, District 155, and CLS administration, who make this unique experience possible.”
